Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Role
The successful applicant will join our experienced maintenance team who are responsible for servicing, fault finding and repair of all on-site plant/equipment including hand tools, welding sets, overhead cranes, factory transport, plasma cutting machines, hydraulic presses, robot welders, CNC lathes/machining centres and powder coating plant.
Essential Skills
- Fault finding and repair of all on-site plant/equipment including hand tools, MIG welders, overhead cranes, plasma cutting machines, hydraulic presses, robot welders, CNC lathes/machining centres and powder coating plant
- Installation of power cables and distribution boards for new equipment installations
- Carry out routine servicing/maintenance work and respond to breakdown requests from Production
- Diagnose breakdown of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Source parts for servicing and repair of equipment
- Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
- Jointly prioritise jobs with other members of the Maintenance Team
- Control of maintenance tools, stores and equipment
- Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
- Assist in the installation of new factory plant/equipment
- Periodic testing of emergency systems such as fire alarms and emergency lighting
- Liaise with outside contractors during legislative inspections such as LOLER
- Teamworking skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
- Good communication skills
